A DUFF SAID EPISODE XXXVII: MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL POST PANDEMIC (WITH BRAD TUNNEY)

Before they were All-Stars. Before they won the World Series, dozens of major league baseball players started their careers by taking the field at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan.

Like all the other minor league parks around the country, Dow Diamond didn't host a single game in 2020. The minor league baseball season was canceled. The financial impact on the industry was devastating. Thousands of jobs were lost.

I spoke with Great Lakes Loons radio announcer Brad Tunney about what the organization experienced with no baseball season. We also discussed how the team and its radio station partner survived, and what it's been like moving forward.

Tunney also shared his experiences as a minor league baseball announcer and how his career has evolved in the "new normal."
